Copyright Policy
Working draft pending legal review.
Yapflix respects the rights of creators. This explains how to tell us about infringing content and how to respond if your content was removed.
Sending a copyright notice
If you are a copyright owner, or act for one, and believe something on Yapflix infringes your copyright, email our copyright contact at support@yapflix.com with the subject "Copyright notice" and include:
- Your name, address, phone number and email.
- A description of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
- Where the material is on Yapflix (a link, or the title and uploader).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We remove or disable access to material that appears to infringe and tell the person who posted it. Sending a false notice can have legal consequences.
If your content was removed
If you believe your content was removed by mistake or that you have permission to use it, email us with the subject "Counter-notice" and include your name, address, phone number and email, a description of the removed material and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your signature. We pass it to the person who sent the notice. We may restore the material if they do not take legal action within the period the law provides.
Repeat infringers
We end the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright.
Licensed and public-domain titles
Titles in the Yapflix catalog are shown under the licence their owner chose, with attribution where the licence requires it. If you think a title is shown under the wrong licence, email us.
